Continuing our outdoor and adventure theme for May and June we see 5th class here enjoying a scavenger hunt in the Demesne In Newcastle West. Well done 5th class!
The Junior and senior infants really enjoyed active week with Limbo and obstacle courses on the yard. The committee helped them and they had great fun. Integrated with our athletics and outdoor and adventure strand! They had a great time!
Well done to the 6th class girls who competed in a Basketball Blitz in the community Center during Active Week. The girls played other local teams and did great on the day!Well done!

We had a wonderful time visiting Sandy Feet Farm. We played in the playground, visited the sensory garden, saw all the animals, fed them and we even got to have a tractor ride!!! Take a look at all the fun we had!!!
On the Monday of active week we kick started the week with some warm ups on the yard. The music was blaring to get everyone into the spirit. Thanks to Ciara Kelly, an SNA in our school and her daughter Lauren for taking the time to warm up the girls.
On the Wednesday evening of Active Week we organised a slow bike race for the school. The committee set up 7 lanes using cones. The classes had great fun "slow racing" each other!
On the Tuesday of active week we organised a basketball blitz in the local community center. The girls had been practicing their skills for weeks and students from 3rd to 6th competed in a friendly blitz. Thanks to Noel O' Connor for refereeing the matches. ...
A big thank you to Mrs. Balfe the 6th class teacher who really put the girls through their paces on Active Week doing "kicksanity" on the yard with the school. The girls learned "boxercise" and "kickboxing" moves with music! Very active indeed! [gallery...
